5 Ways To Increase Your Well-Being

We all want to have a feeling of being well balanced and positive. When we are living a healthy lifestyle and following a passion of ours, we feel great about ourselves and our lives. We have more energy, are more accepting to compliments and have more get up and go about us. To increase our well-being we must take a look at the factors which affect us the most.

Be Active

Are you active enough? Do you go for a walk or run everyday? Does your job require you to sit down for extended periods of time without movement or stretching? Even a little bit of exercise can have a positive impact on our well-being and make us feel happier and healthier. . Step outside, cycle, play a game, work in the garden, dance, do whatever form of exercise that makes you feel good. 

Physical activity is proven to enhance your mental wellbeing.  It get the bodies serotonin levels up and has many positive effects including reducing stress, boosting energy and strengthening your immune system.

A simple gesture like giving a hug can have a major impact on how you feel. Positive energy vibrations are passed along and this promotes a sense of self-worth, strengthens community, shows love and friendship.  The ways by which you can give are practically unlimited. Volunteer at a local soup kitchen, fly to Africa to work in an orphanage, simply help elderly family members with cleaning and shopping. What we give out to the universe we shall get back twice fold so obey the laws of karma and give gratitude for what you already have and give that which will help others. Simple gifts like scented christmas candles can make a person feel special. 



Food is fuel and what you consume has a massive impact on your mood and overall well-being. If you are feeling sluggish and lethargic, then take a few moments to evaluate your diet. Is it full of starchy carbs like pasta and breads? Do you consume high fructose corn syrup in the form of soda drinks and pastries? To feel goo you need to eat good. Brain food like fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids and green vegetables will turn how you feel around. Sugar withdrawals will only last a few days and it is the mildest of headaches if anything. But healthy eating habits last a lifetime. 



Have you ever considered that doing the same old-same old every day could be effecting your mood? Monotony kills the mind so it is good to try learning something new every once in a while. This gets the brain synapses firing and can increase your confidence. It could be a language, an instrument, sport or creative output. Think about what you enjoy doing and go for it!
