Clinically-Proven Probiotic for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Symptoms

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) April 6, 2007 -- Recent news on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) has people looking for solutions for their symptoms. For the nearly 60 million Americans* who suffer from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), everyday life can present many challenges. IBS is a common digestive disorder in which the gastro-intestinal system does not function properly, with symptoms ranging from mild to severe abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, gas, constipation and diarrhea. New Study Reveals People Fail to Move Their Bowels Regularly

(PRWEB) July 24, 2007 -- Shocking revelations were found in a report released this week with concern to the bowel movements of individuals. In a compilation of empirical data looking at 32,473 human subjects, it worryingly found that over fifty-seven per cent (57%) moved their bowels less than once a day, according to McKeith Research Ltd based in London.

In the empirical data, 32,473 people completed the online Dr Gillian McKeith Personal Health Profile questionnaire which incorporates more than 200 specific questions relating to individual health status, nutritional, dietary and lifestyle habits.......

"This is an absolute disgrace", argues nutritionist Gillian McKeith (PhD). Moving the bowels less than once daily can lead to abdominal pain and bloating and the frequent passage of gas.

Dr Nick Read, consultant physician and medical adviser to the IBS [Irritable Bowel Syndrome Network confirmed McKeith's concerns:

"Infrequent bowel action tends to cause abdominal discomfort in the short term and may lead to early onset of Diverticular Disease in the longer term. There is also evidence linking constipation to colonic cancer. Lack of dietary fibre and insufficient time to relax are the major factors that lead to an infrequent bowel action".

Under the direction of Gillian McKeith, the Personal Health Profile provides online nutritional programmes to help correct impacted bowels and other health related areas. "People need to move their poos at least once or twice daily for ultimate health. It is impossible to feel well if you don't empty out the rubbish from your insides every day," asserts Gillian McKeith, the TV nutritionist who is known as the first to examine bowel movements of people on the television......
